Math: We are beginning Topic 11: Adding and Subtracting Fractions. Please continue to work on your multiplication facts.

Reading: We will be working on cause and effect this week. Our story is The Stranger.




Language: We are working on action and linking verbs. Words that show actions are called action verbs (hit, regretted, walked, sat). Linking verbs do not show actions. They tell what the subject is or what the subject is like. Common linking verbs are: am, is, are, was, were.
 
Science: We are continuing Ch. 2 Reproduction and Survival. We will be working on life cycles and metamorphosis. Below is a link to our Science textbooks website. They have animated summaries, vocabulary games, and much more!
Social Studies: We are working on The First People- Ancient Civilizations, North American Indians & Agriculture, Historic Tribes in Tennessee.

Reading: We will be working on main idea and supporting details this week. Our story is So You Think You Want to be President?

Language: We are working on plural possessive nouns. A noun is a person, place, thing, or idea. A plural possessive noun shows ownership, such as the cats' toys (more than one cat), the babies' diapers (more than one baby), etc. They add an apostrophe after the s.
