Math: We are beginning our unit on fractions. We will be working on making equal parts, creating number lines, fraction representations, and equivalent fractions. Please continue to work on your multiplication facts. Here is a link to some fun multiplication games:

Reading: We will be working on story structure and author's purpose this week. Our story is The Horned Toad Prince.

Language: We are working on compound sentences. A compound sentence is two sentences combined using a comma and a conjuction (and, but, or). We will also be working on writing our own complete and compound sentences in writing workshop.
  
Science: We are continuing Chapter 1 Lesson 2: Environmental Interactions. We will be learning what an ecosystem is, abiotic and biotic factors, competition, food chains and webs, and predators and prey.
